Jack is ONE! It is simply amazing how much they change in that first year. Unfortunately, between the hustle and bustle of a busy month and a busy weekend celebrating his birthday, we forgot to get his final "12 Month" photo as we normally do. And now, our poor baby boy has RSV/Pneumonia (first diagnosed as Pneumonia but seeming to be more like RSV now that it has developed)...so needless to say, a 12 Month photo right now would result in a crying, snotty mess of a photo. :P
I think one of the main noticeable changes in Jack this month is how often he is now using the word "Dat" to point at things he wants to see. "Dat! Dat!" He's also begun to clap quite a bit, especially when someone says something about clapping or says "Yeaaaa!" (or claps, and he follows).
At his birthday party, he seemed to enjoy his cake. He would take his little "finger pinchers" and grab little bits to eat. He got the hang of it but was done quickly...and seemed to appreciate not getting too messy. (He tried to shake the icing off his finger at first.) He also did great at his party even with about a half hour nap in the morning, much to mom's amazement.
We just can't believe he's one. He's definitely starting to act like a little one year old that knows what he wants and is enjoying life (and his new-found freedom in crawling and getting into things).
